Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical nurse specialist who is a nurse prescriber to showcase their clinical skills and leadership across two mental health teams within Health and Justice, HMP Haverigg CAT D and HMP Deerbolt CAT C male prisons.
This role is subject to Prison Vetting and the successful candidate must pass this before commencing employment. This includes a thorough review of personal information, including a criminal record check (both spent and unspent), a review of financial standing, and social media checks. Please note that vetting checks may also extend to family members and associates. You must also have resided in the UK for 3 years at the point of application. This will be considered as part of the shortlisting criteria and your application may be rejected if you do not meet this criteria.
Main duties of the job
The main duty of the job is to be the clinical lead for the mental health team's leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery of robust evidence-based practice.
The successful candidate, will hold a caseload of patients with complex needs, providing nurse-led diagnosis, and treatment planning
Post holder will be an NMP, (independent prescriber)

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only) Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving. Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving And have Professional clinical knowledge and experience acquired through degree (or equivalent post registration study), supplemented by specialist training, experience, short courses at level 7 see below And have Equivalent significant clinical experience such as working (minimum of 2 years) as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area, together with evidence of relevant CPD to Level 7 or equivalent NMP, (independent prescriber)

Significant experience working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field Significant experience working with patients who display risk behaviours Clinical risk assessment and management and its application in practice Working collaboratively with service users their families and carers Working in a multi-disciplinary team Quality improvement activities
Knowledge Essential
Extensive knowledge of current issues relating to health needs of patients in the field of practice, regionally and nationally Understanding and working knowledge of the legal framework and statutory obligations under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice Clinical Governance and its application in practice Working knowledge of clinical medicines management Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment (depending on specialist area)
