About this role

The Motor Mechanic will be responsible for: Carrying out routine servicing on cars and vans of all makes and models. Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, engine, transmission, braking, suspension, steering, and emissions-related faults. Completing repairs and replacements on vehicle components, including: engines and engine components timing belts and chains clutches gearboxes brakes suspension systems steering systems exhaust systems cooling systems fuel systems batteries and charging systems Using diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults. Carrying out pre-NCT / DOE checks and preparing vehicles for roadworthiness testing. Inspecting vehicles and identifying required repairs or safety issues. Recording work completed accurately on job cards or workshop systems. Advising the service manager or workshop controller of additional work required. Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer or industry standards. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working area. Following health and safety procedures at all times. Supporting apprentices or less experienced technicians where required. Road-testing vehicles where necessary to confirm diagnosis or repair quality. Ensuring customer vehicles are treated with care and returned in a clean and professional condition.
