Supply Chain Planner Role Overview The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for executing procurement and inventory planning activities, ensuring optimal stock availability, vendor performance management, and alignment with commercial and operational targets. The role supports strategic sourcing initiatives and drives data-driven decision-making across supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities Procurement & Planning Execution Support the Strategic Procurement Manager in delivering monthly procurement targets through effective demand planning and order execution Generate and place purchase orders in line with defined procurement strategies, lead times, and inventory policies Maintain and manage open purchase orders (POs) using outstanding line reports, ensuring timely follow-up with vendors Inventory & Stock Management Manage inventory levels to ensure continuous product availability while minimizing excess and obsolete stock Monitor stock movements, including excess, slow-moving, lapsed, and expired inventory, and initiate corrective actions Maintain a structured schedule of supplier Out-of-Stock (OOS) items, triggering timely replenishment and communicating updates to stakeholders Demand Planning & Forecasting Maintain and validate accurate demand forecasts with vendors on a weekly basis, incorporating sales trends and business insights Support analysis of stock performance, sales data, and gross margin (GM) to inform procurement decisions Vendor & Performance Management Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to contractual and operational KPIs Monitor and evaluate vendor performance through service level metrics, driving procurement decisions based on data-driven insights Collaborate with Key Account Managers (KAMs) and manufacturers to proactively manage supply risks such as product shortages or discontinuations Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Strategic Sourcing Specialists and Supply Chain Planners to ensure seamless daily operations of stock management and procurement Work closely with Warehouse and Wholesale teams to ensure efficient goods receipt and system integration within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) Liaise with Accounts Payable to ensure timely invoice resolution, vendor payments, and reconciliation of vendor statements Operational Support & Issue Resolution Respond to internal sourcing queries and resolve supply chain issues in a timely manner Escalate risks related to stock availability, vendor performance, and financial exposure where necessary Continuous Improvement & Business Growth Contribute to supply chain projects and process improvement initiatives led by the Strategic Procurement Manager Identify and develop opportunities for business growth, including new sourcing strategies and product availability enhancements
