Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Assembly Supervisor to lead our balcony production line team. This role combines hands-on production leadership with responsibility for demand planning and customer engagement, ensuring production output aligns with customer requirements and delivery schedules. The successful candidate will oversee daily assembly operations, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and act as a key link between production, planning, and customer needs. A strong focus on Right First Time (RFT) principles and continuous improvement is essential. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the assembly team on the balcony production line Ensure all assembly work is completed in line with engineering drawings, specifications, and company standards Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture at all times Drive Right First Time (RFT) quality standards and minimise rework Production & Planning Support and contribute to demand planning, aligning labour and resources to meet production schedules Monitor workflow, output, and capacity to ensure on-time delivery Liaise with planning and management teams to prioritise orders and adjust schedules as required Track and report on KPIs including productivity, quality, and delivery performance Customer Engagement Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding production status Support communication of lead times, progress updates, and delivery expectations Work closely with customer-facing teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and met Assist in resolving customer queries or issues related to production and quality Team Leadership & Development Lead, motivate, and develop the assembly team to achieve performance targets Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to operatives Manage attendance, timekeeping, and team discipline Quality & Continuous Improvement Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with internal and customer standards Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste Report production issues, risks, and improvement opportunities to management General Duties Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment Ensure effective communication with other departments including engineering, quality, and operations Desirable Skills & Experience Experience in balcony systems, steelwork, or similar engineered product assembly Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes Experience with production KPIs, scheduling tools, or ERP systems Customer-facing or project coordination experience (advantageous) What We Offer Full-time, stable employment with structured hours Opportunity to lead and influence production performance Career development and progression opportunities
