We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Live-In Carers to support elderly, vulnerable, or disabled clients in their own homes across Pollardstown Cork City. Your main goal is to help individuals live safely, comfortably, and independently, while preserving their dignity, choices, and quality of life. You will live in the client’s home, providing consistent care, companionship, and practical support. Key Duties & Responsibilities Personal Care Assist with washing, bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, oral care, and toileting Support with mobility, transfers, and moving around the home Help with continence care and maintaining personal hygiene standards Respect privacy, dignity, and personal preferences at all times Daily Living Support Prepare and cook nutritious meals, help with eating and drinking Light housekeeping: cleaning, tidying, laundry, ironing, bed making, and changing bed linen Assist with shopping, collecting prescriptions, and managing household tasks Help with managing appointments (doctor, dentist, day centres, social activities) Health & Wellbeing Prompt, remind, and assist with medication (as per care plan – no administration unless trained) Monitor health, mood, and behaviour; report any changes or concerns to the manager/nurse Keep accurate daily care notes and records Follow all care plans, safety guidelines, and company policies Companionship & Social Support Provide friendly conversation, emotional support, and reassurance Encourage hobbies, interests, reading, games, walks, and outings Help maintain family and community contacts Prevent loneliness and isolation Live-In Arrangement Reside in the client’s home – free private accommodation + all utilities (heating, electricity, water, internet) included Be available during agreed hours; respect rest periods and personal space for both you and the client Maintain a safe, clean, environment Kind, patient, caring, and respectful nature – genuine desire to help people Good spoken & written English (to communicate and write care notes) Willingness to live-in and work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays Ability to follow instructions, care plans, and safety rules Reliable, trustworthy, and honest
