A timber worker is responsible for cutting, processing, transporting, and preparing timber or wood products for construction, manufacturing, or retail use. Typical Duties Operate chainsaws, harvesters, loaders, and other forestry machinery Cut and trim trees according to safety and environmental guidelines Load, unload, and transport logs or timber products Inspect timber for quality and defects Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment Follow workplace health and safety procedures Measure and sort wood products based on specifications Work outdoors in varying weather conditions Key Requirements Education & Training Secondary school education is often preferred Vocational training in forestry, logging, or heavy equipment operation can be beneficial Skills - Physical stamina and strength Ability to operate heavy machinery safely Knowledge of timber grading and forestry practices Teamwork and communication skills Attention to safety and detail Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance Experience Previous experience in forestry, logging, construction Experience operating forestry equipment is highly valued Provisions: Accommodation will be provided Language training will be provided as required. Hours per week: 39 Hours Per Week Salary: 34,000.00 Per Annum.
