Healthcare Assistant Community Healthcare

Bank Contract: working early, late, twilights and night shifts, 7 days a week

Location: Harrogate and the Hambleton and Richmond area

Salary:£13.33 per hour

Main duties of the job

Your role as a Healthcare Assistant

At the heart of our patient-centred approach is a simple belief that every moment counts. As an effective member of our clinical team, you will ensure the provision of high-level care (including palliative, end of life, complex care and social) within a multi- disciplinary approach across all North Yorkshire Hospice Care Services.

This Healthcare Assistant role is community based, throughout Harrogate and Hambleton and Richmond. You will be required to have access to your own vehicle and have a current driving license.

In this role, you will-

Providing compassionate care and support for patients daily needs, including palliative and end-of-life care

Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals

Ability to follow care plans, policies, and procedures, including infection control and safety guidelines

Basic clinical skills (e.g. medication administration, monitoring) within training and competence

Teamwork and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and volunteers

Accurate record-keeping and documentation of care provided

Understanding of patient dignity, hygiene, and safeguarding, including care after death

Manual handling and safe use of equipment to support patient independence

Flexibility to support different teams and tasks, including meals, housekeeping, and general patient comfort
