We are excited to have the opportunity to recruit to our Senior Midwifery leadership team in Community Midwifery at UHDB.
We are looking for a Midwife who has demonstrable leadership skills to take the next step and join our management team. This is an opportunity for and experienced Midwife to influence and shape how community midwifery is delivered at UHDB whilst part of an established and experienced leadership team.
Main duties of the job
As a senior midwife you will take responsibility in ensuring women and birthing people, babies and families receive safe, clinically effective, individualised care within a team. You will lead by example, offer expert midwifery clinical advice, operationally support and manage teams and homebirth service ensuring the delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate midwifery care.
Senior midwives provide expert clinical and professional midwifery leadership and are responsible for the women and birthing people, babies, public and staff experience. This will be in line with Trust wide policies and procedures and values and behaviours.
Staff wellbeing including appraisals and health and attendance management is vital to this role and requires a confident, inclusive and compassionate leader.
Safe allocation and management of resources are intrinsic to a safe workforce therefore knowledge of workforce rostering and budget management will be required.
The successful candidate will join the Senior Midwifery Team and will be supported to deliver quality improvements in line with our Maternity and Neonatal Improvement Programme and the national maternity agenda.
