We are looking for a nurse experienced in working with learning disabilities/mental health with a level head who is aware of the pressures of a busy community environment to support and guide staff. We are looking for a strong and proven leader who can take responsibility for decisions and support junior members of the team.
The way we care for people with Learning Disabilities in Suffolk is changing at NSFT as we have recently benefit form £1.3 million of investment which has recently physically transformed our inpatient facilities. The Learning Disability and Autism Specialist Service is not only being invested in financially, with a fresh approach to ideas and service delivery being supported by the Trust, we are confident our new model of care is the very best for the people we care for
This role in-particular is to lead and manage our 2 LD Community Teams in Suffolk. The teams are very patient-focused and highly skilled at managing and supporting a caseload of people with complex needs who are presenting with deteriorating mental health and/or challenging behaviour. The multidisciplinary teams work pro-actively with each individual to support them along their recovery journey.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Nursing degree or equivalent, Dip SW or Dip OT or equivalent, or HCPC registered
Desirable
Higher degree or post grad certificate on area of clinical/therapeutic practice. Ongoing professional development working towards degree level ILM certificate in management or equivalent
Experience Essential
Able to demonstrate experience at a senior clinical level including staff management/supervision experience. Evidence of providing leadership in a Mental Health care environment including service development. Experience with risk assessment and ongoing management. Mentoring Experience Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
Knowledge Essential
Knowledge of medication and the monitoring of its effects. Build on / develop further knowledge of psychosocial interventions
