Carry out assigned and delegated responsibilities involving direct care and all activities of daily living in line with the HIQA standards. Understand and adhere to all relevant HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures, and comply with Health & Safety and Risk Management Procedures. Assist residents with their ADL’s with respect and dignity. Have a working knowledge of HIQA standards, Hand Hygiene, Infection Prevention and Control, etc. Safeguarding awareness. To report any incident or potential incident which may compromise the health and safety of the service users and to take appropriate action? To report any breakage or malfunction of equipment to the nurse in charge or to the family. To ensure effective and appropriate communication with staff, patients, relatives, and visitors, maintaining confidentiality at all times. To ensure that knowledge and skills are updated to maintain safe standards of care and treatment of the residents. To assist with transport of residents to OPD appts. Awareness of COVID -19 management and strict compliance with the guidelines. • Apply universal precautions at all times to minimise the risk of cross-infection in the unit. • Preparing hot meals. To ensure that the client has taken his/ her medication. To assist with laundry and general duties to ensure a clean, hygienic, and clutter-free environment for the client in a home setting. To do the necessary chores in a home setting.
