Detailed duties and Responsibilities of role: • Design functions will include assessing what networking components are necessary, detailing, and drafting designs, developing scope of work for deployment, and supporting design discussions. • Work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for client needs. • Drives efficiency and scalability through the re-use of network designs and accountable for the design whilst it is deployed across the overall customer solution. • Design should ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design. Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to software development teams to build their cloud competencies. • Define and document best practices and system strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance. • Work with the Chief Technology Officer and hardware engineers to predict future requirements and determine where new system networks should be built. • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure. • Be responsible for installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, systems, and clusters of systems. • Identifying potential problems that could arise from new technologies or system upgrades so that solutions can be implemented before problems arise. Details of qualifications/skills/knowledge or experience required for this role: • Bachelor's degree in engineering - Computer Science • Master's degree may be preferred. • CompTIA and/or Network certification will be advantageous. • A minimum of 6 years' experience in a similar domain. • Experience with operating systems, such as Linux and UNIX. • Experience with database management systems and Application servers. • Excellent scripting skills with knowledge of programming languages, such as Perl, Ruby, and Python. • Good knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP, IP, and OSI models. • Exceptional communication and leadership skills. • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
