Main duties of the job
The Senior OT contributes to the provision, co-ordination and development of OT services for their specific section. Assists in training and supervising junior staff and students and participates in administrative functions of the OT Department. To provide excellent, high quality person centred clinical care that advocates for patients. Strive to provide a service fit for today and the future. Develop personal leadership to support clinical growth. The successful post holder should have experience working with stroke and a range of other neurological conditionals.

Person Specification
Qualification Essential
Degree or Diploma in OT HCPC registration
Desirable
Fieldwork educators course evidence of Post grad study in neuro conditions
Skills and knowledge Essential
Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and groups (stroke specific) Ability to manage own workload and determine priorities able to work under pressure Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance Knowledge of evidence based practice (stroke specific) Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice (within OT and stroke)
Desirable
Training and facilitation skills Use of an NHS EPR
Experience Essential
Ability to clinical reason/ plan intervention independently Experience working with neuro patients in an acute / community setting Evidence of CPD. Experience of risk assessment

Experience of research and audit Advice and informal supervision to support staff and students Experience working in the NHS
