This post is fixed term/secondment for 10 months due to service needs ending March 2027

If so we have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Service Manager for our Complex Needs and Disability Care Group, within the Children, Young People and Families Directorate. You will play a lead role in the seamless operational functioning of our clinical services, taking line management responsibility for designated staff and lead responsibility for key senior administrative/ operational management duties required to maintain and develop services in line with local and national initiatives and priorities.

The successful candidate will have a track record of supporting teams to deliver high quality outcomes.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be directly responsible for the operational day to day management of the Care Group, including management of the delegated budget organisation of staff resource, management of workflow and performance of the Care Group (linking in with relevant professional/heads of department as required). They will provide leadership to the teams and promote high professional standards of care whilst upholding and embedding quality and safety of services. The post holder will be:o Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of continuous improvement initiativeso Ensure that quality standards are met, maintaining a consistently high standard of patient/client care and ensuring the patient is at the centre of all initiativeso Be a role model, demonstrating strong leadership behaviours and competencies to drive operational quality improvemento The operational manger will use their own initiative to support the Care Group in its objectives to deliver timely access targets and standards to the full range of Care Group serviceso To support clinical teams to ensure all patients are given treatment, in a timely fashion and all outcomes are appropriately reviewed and followed up

Job description Job responsibilities

You will hold responsibility for the achievement of defined targets and standards against the key performance and quality indicators through performance monitoring and project management, and the delivery of service and quality improvement programmes within the Care Group. You should be able to interpret data identifying areas for development and work with the clinical leads to improve patient flows through services to ensure targets are met without compromising service user experience.
