Are you a nurturing enthusiastic childcare professional who is ready to make a difference in little lives? We're looking for a dedicated Senior Room Practitioner to join our warm and welcoming team at GOSH Staff Day Nursery.

The nursery is in a quiet cul-de-sac on Long Yard, with numerous parks and outdoor provisions available for the children to visit daily.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

To lead a team of nursery nurses/assistants to provide a fun enabling environment for children to learn and thrive. Guiding and mentoring a team of early years practitioners to foster a positive team culture within the room and nursery setting. To act as a key worker to names children, carrying out observations and developmental reports for each child and liaising with parents regularly. Working in partnership with the team and with parents toact as a positive and professional role model to colleagues and children To be considered for the role:

You will need to have a minimum Childcare Level 3 qualification and experience of a room leader role in a busy nursery environment covering the age ranges 3 months - 5 years, together with excellent knowledge of child development and current practices.

Extensive experience of working as a key person with children aged 0-5 years in a nursery setting Experience of effective planning and observation in a nursery setting (focused activities). Knowledge of childcare development and awareness of children's needs Knowledge of Development matters and EYFS Experience of operating in a senior role e.g. Lead nursery nurse/senior/room leader in a nursery

Skills/Abilities Essential

Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to follow instruction and to work under own initiative as necessary Ability to adapt to meet the needs of the service within a team environment Attendance at monthly staff meetings outside normal hours
