Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust are seeking an inspiring Head of Radiography Services to lead a high-performing team, drive innovation across imaging services and play a pivotal role in delivering world-class care for children and young people.

The successful candidate will deliver a high level of clinical and professional leadership to the Radiology Service,supporting the delivery of high quality and safe services with a positive working experience for staff and service users.

The post holder will ensure professional standards are met, and delivery of care is in line with best practice standards. Proactively monitoring and improving the management of resources, effectiveness and value for money. Monitoring and continually improving the service and environment ensuring staff are organised to meet the needs of the patients by providing consistently excellent standards of care. .

They will ensure the delivery of high-quality evidence-based practice in their profession across the organisation in line with national and local strategy and policy, Trust priorities, IRMER regulations, CQC standards, NICE guidance, safety, quality and governance frameworks.

The post holder as Professional Lead will, represent and promote diagnostic radiography as a profession in the Trust, the ICS and the Northwest region.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high level of professional leadership and operational management for the Radiology Services at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. To oversee the delivery of highly specialist Radiology Services to children and young people under the care of Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust. To be accountable for the delivery of a high quality and safe clinical Radiology Service that is consistent with the professional standards required by the Health and Social Care Professions Council (HCPC). To develop innovative working practices which drive and support continuous improvement in Radiology Services within the Trust. To drive and support the delivery of safe and sustainable efficiency saving within the Radiology Services. Monitor arrangements for partnership working and benchmarking across the network. To lead on the modernisation and redesign of the Radiology service and support the Trust's workforce agenda for Allied Health Professionals.

Knowledge Essential

BSc(Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or Equivalent (level 6) HCPC Registration Level 7 specialist qualifications or extensive equivalent experience Leadership qualification or equivalent experience

Experience Essential

Extensive in depth knowledge and post qualification experience within diagnostic radiography Thorough knowledge and understanding of current professional issues and national agendas Demonstrable recent senior leadership experience with evidence of leading and managing teams and projects Knowledge of policy context relevant to the commissioning and provision of services Experience of resource management and able to manage resources effectively Line Management of clinical teams Knowledge of Governance, Incident reporting and Risk management

Skills Essential

Highly developed effective leadership skills To persuade senior managers of the merits of different options, innovations and new opportunities Able to work on own initiative, organise a workload and make autonomous decisions on difficult issues, lead and motivate the team.
