Job summary
Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) provide care and treatment for people with serious mental health difficulties, including but not limited to psychotic illnesses, mood and personality disorders, and other disorders.
Southwark has four Community Mental Health Teams covering different parts of Southwark:
Borough, Bermondsey and Rotherhithe Walworth Camberwell and Peckham Dulwich and Nunhead
The post holder would provide clinical leadership and medical input working with the MDT
Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary team. They will work with the team manager to ensure responsive, excellent and safe care is provided that supports the whole healthcare system. The postholder will work with senior directorate staff to meet Trust objectives.

Person Specification
Qualifications and training Essential
Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry OR within six months Approved clinician status Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of eligibility Approved Clinician status AND Approved under S12 of the UK Mental Health Act (1983), or able to achieve these within 3 months of appointment Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines)
Desirable
Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines) Experience in other relevant specialties such as in patient, liaison psychiatry, home treatment or addictions In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service Membership or fellowship of Royal College of Psychiatrists
