We are seeking an enthusiastic pharmacist to join our aseptic services team to provide safe, compliant and innovative care to our patients
There has never been a more exciting time to join us as the team are in process of moving into the brand new Pharmacy Aseptic and Clinical Trials facility.
This is a unique opportunity to work in aseptic services. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring regulatory compliance, patient safety, staff training and aseptic preparation.
We are looking for a pharmacist with proven experience in clinical and technical aseptic services within a hospital setting
Main duties of the job
The post holder will
Act as the lead nutrition pharmacist supporting parenteral nutrition (TPN) service by conducting daily ward rounds, liaising with dietitians and consultants to support TPN prescribing decisions and managing supply of treatment.
Support the Assistant Director of Pharmacy - Aseptic Services and the accountable pharmacist in the development of the parenteral nutrition service.
Support the clinical, technical and operational delivery of an efficient pharmacy aseptic service.
Provide clinical and directorate support to designated wards and departments.

Qualification Essential
Masters Degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent) Completed Year 1 of postgraduate Clinical Diploma or equivalent qualification Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Desirable
Additional postgraduate qualification in Aseptic or Nutrition Independent prescribing qualification Completed postgraduate Clinical Diploma or equivalent qualification/experience
Experience Essential
Post-registration experience working recently in an acute Trust setting Experience of working as part of the Pharmacy team within the cancer / nutrition/ aseptic specialties Ability to work on a ward environment with close contacts to patients Ability to work in an aseptic environment
Desirable
Experience of undertaking audits and participating Ability to adapt behaviour to changing circumstances and work under pressure Experience of developing and implementing standard operating procedures Experience in supervising, training and assessing staff
