Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic experienced qualifiedPsychological Therapist to become part of the integrated mental health and justice pathway team within HMP Norwich .
It is a lead therapist post , therefore , established experience in leading and managing a team as well as excellent clinical skills is essential .
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join a continually developing service, that offers therapeutic approaches underpinned by DBT, CBT and other psychological approaches. The service offers treatment pathways to address, mood stabilisation, anxiety, relationship management, emotional regulation, personality difficulties and trauma.
Specifically working with men who may self-harm, have attempted suicide, and/or experience high levels of anxiety or trauma/PTSD. The role includes having an active contribution in reducing self-harm, self destructive and violent behaviour, working closely with partner agencies
The successful applicant will require excellent therapeutic skills, cultural competency and be able to be responsive and flexible in working within the busy prison environment.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Professional doctorate level qualification in a related field. (E.g. nursing, psychology) or equivalent level of knowledge. Post Graduate Training in specific psychological therapist (e.g. CBT, CAT or counselling) BABCP or BACP NCPS accredited. Post Graduate training in a specific therapy (e.g. CBT, CAT or counselling) Relevant professional accreditation or eligible for accreditation.
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a range of mental health settings including primary care, outpatient, community.
Travel Essential
Car driver with ability and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation
Skills Essential
Trained and experienced in carrying out risk assessments within scope of practice. Computer literate Excellent verbal and written communication Able to attend supervision training if not already trained
