Job summary

We have new opportunities within our All Age Continuing Care Specialist s117 Aftercare and Acquired Brain Injury Team. We are looking for clinical leaders with detailed knowledge in mental health and s117 aftercare, who are passionate about patient care and improving peoples life opportunities. You must share our leadership values of being compassionate, person centred, honest, innovative, and collaborative. Posts involve working across Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight.

As Clinical Team Leader (Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disabilities Nurse or Social Work registration with mental health specialism) you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals supporting clients who require care, treatment and support under the Mental Health Act, including overseeing comprehensive assessments of clients and championing a positive risk-taking approach alongside least restrictive practices and strengths-based approach.

You will have excellent leadership skills, able to motivate and support staff and lead compassionately. You will need extensive interpersonal and communication skills to establish good rapport with teams, stakeholders and clients and an ability to make decisions in a challenging but supportive environment. You will have the opportunity to develop strong links with health and social care colleagues to ensure effective multi-disciplinary working and develop a strong understanding of local NHS and independent sector service provision in individual's own homes and in care homes

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be able to use specialist knowledge and clinical skills to ensure that coordination and outcomes are determined in a consistent manner to ensure effective application and interpretation of the MHA S117.

Experience in the Mental Health Act is essential along with an aptitude for leadership - if you have the right skills and attitude, we can support you to develop the specific leadership skills required. The Trust has a suite of educational opportunities to develop skills and we offer team training opportunities and Deputy Heads of Service who are non-case holding in order to mentor and develop our Clinical Team Leaders with knowledge and critical thinking about safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act and Court of Protection. You will be part of a wider All Age team, comprising administration, brokerage, commissioners, Deprivation of Liberty experts, proportionate care practitioners and case practitioners who provide a wide range of expertise and support. Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Registered Health or Social Care Professional with current registration with professional body i.e. NMC, SWE. Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in health or social care. 998 / Mentorship level 2/3

Demonstrates excellent knowledge of NHS Funded Continuing Health Care criteria -- guidance and policies and other legal frameworks as required (Children and Complex Care, s117 Aftercare, Mental Health Act etc.) Court of Protection/legal case management, responsible commissioner "who pays" guidance Knowledge of complex neurological conditions and experience of working with clients with complex brain injuries. Specific knowledge of the National Service Frameworks and appropriate national policy related to rehabilitation of people with acquired brain injury/ neurological dysfunction (Specialist Rehabilitation / ABI team) Knowledge of complex neurological conditions and experience of working with clients with complex brain injuries.
