Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HCA to join our nursing team at Trentside Medical Group. We are looking for 30 hours to be worked over the week which will include some 7am starts and an occasional late until 8pm.
This is an important role supporting the GP and nurse team undertaking patient care, adhering to infection control principles and running your own clinic.
Main duties of the job
To carry out a range of clinical duties: NHS health checks, venepuncture, ECGs, injections, BP checks, Urinalysis
To assist with specialist clinics such as coils/implants and minor surgery
To maintain stocks and supplies within the practice
Emergency equipment checks

Duties and responsibilities:
New patient health checks
ECG recording
Phlebotomy
Chaperoning duties
Long term condition reviews
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Qualifications Essential
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care Qualification in Venepuncture
Desirable
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
Experience Essential
Experience of working as a HCA
Desirable
Experience of working within a GP practice
