Job summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated administrators within our busy Integrated Single Point of Access (ISPA).

The team provides a vital service that includes taking calls from patients, carers, GPs, hospitals, the Ambulance Service, and other healthcare agencies and professionals, and processing email referrals and messages received by the team. The team provides administrative support to the community nursing teams, community therapy, and the Frailty Support Service. ISPA work entails using a variety of software packages so good IT skills are also vital to this position. You work well in a team and individually with the ability to prioritise your work to meet deadlines and you will have a customer focused approach.

Whether full or part time, we offer working hours between 8:00am and 6:00pm 7 days a week, enhancements are paid for weekend and bank holidays.

Flexible working options can be considered for the right candidates. Once fully trained, remote or 'hybrid' working is possible.

The office is situated within easy walking distance of the main bus station, the train station, and Eastleigh town centre. There is free on-site parking.

Main duties of the job

The Integrated Single Point of Access (ISPA) receives referrals and enquiries via the telephone or email from patients, families and carers, GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. There will be a need to allocate to, prioritise, and communicate with clinical community teams to ensure timely, seamless, consistent, and safe care to patients.

The Administrator role includes answering telephone calls from patients, carers, and other health care agencies and professionals and accurately receiving and recording information to convey to other staff via the electronic patient record or verbally in a timely way.

The administrator will also assist in processing email referrals and messages received by the team. The administrator role will adhere to the service specification and operating procedures and provide administrative support to multidisciplinary staff within the Integrated Community Teams (ICTs), Frailty Support Team, and elsewhere within the division.

The ISPA is a seven day service operating between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs, including Bank Holidays.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

RSA 2 Word processing or equivalent, or evidence of this standard Minimum five GCSEs at grade C or equivalent, including Mathematics and English Language.
