Main duties of the job As a Head of Maintenance at Barchester Healthcare, you will be responsible for ensuring a clean and well-maintained environment in a care home setting, which contributes to a warm and welcoming atmosphere that supports first-class care and service. Your role will require handling a variety of maintenance tasks both within the care home building and in the gardens and grounds. You will be expected to work independently, lead a maintenance team, and assist the General Manager with annual budget planning. You will also liaise with contractors for tasks beyond your team's scope. Key attributes required include reliability, flexibility, hands-on property maintenance experience with at least one trade skill, and ideally, a proven ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance duties. You will need a full UK driving license, IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent. Qualifications Essential
The role requires hands-on experience in property maintenance, at least one trade skill, and ideally, a proven ability to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks. Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence. IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are also necessary.
