About this role
SOCStreams is a microservices-oriented application hosted on Azure. It is an OpenXDR/SOAR platform operated by MDR SOC, to orchestrate security operations and drive investigations, communication, and SOAR playbooks. The following technologies are utilized: Angular, .NET Core, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis.
The Quality Assurance Software Engineer will work as a member of the SOCStreams team. They will be responsible for developing and running test cases written in Python according to the specifications of the development team, executing software performance tests, and developing and running scripts for automated testing. At least 2-years of QA experience on a live product with real-world users, test automation of web applications, and excellent communication and analytical skills is expected.
Key Responsibilities
Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to engineers on testing and Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies and processesWorks with engineers to drive improvements in code quality via manual and automated testingResponsible for managing the definition, implementation, and integration of quality principles into the design and development of software and IT processesInvolved in the review of requirements specifications for weaknesses in function, performance, reliability, scalability, testability, usability, and security and compliance testing, and provides recommendationsPlans and defines testing approach, providing advice on prioritization of testing activity in support of identified risks in project schedules or test scenariosDevelops test plans, testing resource requirements, and overall scheduling of testing activityResponsible for developing manual and automated test cases and configurations needed to meet testing of business requirementsExecutes test cases/scripts to ensure delivery of quality software applicationsMonitors and tracks resolution of defects, coordinating with engineers in order to prevent, report, and resolveDesigns, monitors, and analyzes quality assurance metrics such as defect, defect counts, test results, and test statusIdentifies opportunities to adopt innovative technologiesRequirements
2+ years of experience in IT, with an emphasis on QA, and proven ability in writing test cases, running functional, automated, or performance tests, and managing defectsWorking knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices in QA discipline (constructing test plans and test cases, report evaluation metrics effectively)Excellent knowledge of test automation of web applicationsIn-depth experience with functional testingExperience with Selenium for test automation of web applicationsExperience with BDD methodology and Gherkin (feature files, step definitions, scenario design)Experience with applications with microservices architectureExperience working in an Agile Development environmentGood knowledge of API and Database testingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsA sharp eye with attention to detailsAbility to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous/under-defined problemsGood communication skills, team spirit and self-motivationFluency in English (writing/reading/speaking)Nice to Have
