The Group Internal Control function was created in September 2016, and has thereafter been given the remit of building a first-class framework for financial internal controls, across the Sandvik Group. Our goal is to build a robust support function for the Group. We are now looking for an Internal Control Developer who is interested in working in a stimulating and challenging environment in close collaboration with the Head of Group Internal Control. The location for this position is Stockholm, and international travel is a natural part of your job. Your mission As an Internal Control Developer, you support the Head of Group Internal Control by providing technical support in accounting and internal control within the organization, and you develop and deliver projects. You also support our business areas with all internal controls requirements, both remotely and in person, by advising on best practices and control requirements while ensuring that correct procedures and protocols are being followed; all in order to create a symmetry within the business areas that is in line with company and country rules and regulations. Together with other members of the team, you design key controls and work with local management on remediation plans. Along with this, you’re also the main functional administrator of an IT tool called Nasdaq BWise, which is now about to be rolled out to the different Sandvik entities, and you lead the implementation with support from project teams. In this role, you also have a global responsibility, supporting in the work to perform continuous assessment of the operating effectiveness of the controls, as well as supporting local management with any changes that need to be made to the control environment. Internal Control is an exciting area, where you acquire a broad understanding of the Sandvik Group and the challenges we’re facing in a wide range of countries and businesses. Your character We are looking for someone with a formal qualification in accounting, and with previous experience from internal controls or auditing. Having overall IT knowledge is important in this role, and it’s a plus if you also have a genuine interest for developing IT tools and systems. A proven track record of creating internal control tools and documents such as Internal Control procedures and manuals, as well as training and communication materials are also beneficial. Additionally, internal or external auditing experience is advantageous, as is previous involvement with implementation processes of internal control within a larger organization.
