Role Summary: We are looking for a Scientist for a 1-year assignment in the GE Healthcare Life Sciences R&D Downstream Resin department. The position is placed in the Bioprocess Applications section and the team is responsible for application work related to market support and new product introductions for vaccines, viral vectors, recombinant proteins and plasma. Essential Responsibilities: As scientist you will be responsible for supporting the organisation around downstream processing using chromatography and filtration techniques with main focus on virus purification. The work is performed in a cross-functional environment involving collaboration with researchers within chemical engineering and upstream development, project managers and product managers. You will be responsible for: • Performing research and development activities with focus on purification of virus and proteins that will support both new product introductions, market support and sales support • Independently perform laboratory studies - on your own or as a team - through planning, execution and analysis of results • Presenting, orally and in writing, results and conclusions from performed studies • Taking part in defining customer needs and verifying them • As part of a team; planning and delivering the team’s commitments If you have any questions regarding the position, please contact recruiting manager Marianne Albenius, [email protected] Last day to apply is 25th of Nov. Qualifications/Requirements: • PhD (or equivalent knowledge/experience) in Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related area • Well experienced in purification and analysis of virus and proteins • Structured and organized team player with good interpersonal skills • Flexible and good track record to deliver according to deadlines • English and Swedish as working languages • Good communication skills (both written and spoken), including presentation skills • Team player and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment Desired Characteristics: • Knowledge about viral vectors and vaccines • Experience in using GE Healthcare products is a merit • Relevant Industrial and project team experience • Knowledge of cell culture and upstream development
