About this role
As an ideal candidate, you are effective at executing and iterating on the proposed design and you enjoy being a part of the creative process and come up with ideas and improvements of your own. As we are a small-ish studio, you will be expected to be able to work with people across all disciplines within game development. Ideally you have already worked at least a couple of years in the games industry. You are familiar and comfortable with agile development. As we’re working in Unreal Engine 4 we’re requiring you to have some experience in Blueprint or visual scripting in another game engine. Experience working with online multiplayer is a big plus. As a designer at Coffee Stain North you will be tasked with designing and populating the game world. Primarily you will be implementing scripted and unscripted events and objects in the game world. Your tasks can also be anything from working with NPC navigation, level design for platforming, designing mechanics and game systems, balancing, level optimization etc. We are still a small-ish studio, and we’d like to stay that way. The games we make are the games we want to play. We strongly believe in staying independent so that we can continue on our own path. We like to work in smaller, more focused teams where everyone matters. Micromanaging is not our style, so everyone needs to take responsibility over their own work. Coffee Stain North is located in Stockholm, Sweden, one of the most gamer-centric cities in the country.
