We offer competence and development resources for product and process development. Materials Technology in Gothenburg has a modern laboratory for material analyses, focused on metallic materials, and advanced equipment for mechanical testing. We are now looking for an experienced engineer to our team within bolted joint technology in Gothenburg. You will be working in one of the best equipped laboratories in Europe within a creative team that has the mission to be the technical experts in bolted joint technology in Volvo Group. The field of work is wide and spans over almost all product applications within Volvo Group. POSITION DESCRIPTION To enjoy the work and be successful we think that you have a genuine interest in mechanical engineering. You need strong analytical skills but it is also important that you like to work in a mechanical testing laboratory environment. You will normally work with your projects individually but your team with competent and experienced colleagues is always there to help you on your way to conclusions and recommendations. A vital part of the position is that together with our design engineers propose suitable solutions and actions regarding bolted joints and material selections. Your main tasks and responsibilities are the following Lead testing and analysis projects including quotation, planning and execution Carry out mechanical testing and measurements on bolted joint assemblies Give recommendations for assembly processes (clamp force, torque, angles etc.) Perform failure analyses of bolted joints Provide guidance regarding materials & coating selections, calculation parameters, component design and standards Every project will result in an engineering report with analysis and recommendations LOCATION Gothenburg (Lundby area), Sweden, Group Trucks Technology.
