Eligibility Completed university education at the least advanced level (degree of Master) in Nursing or Health Care Pedagogics, demonstrated pedagogical skills and a qualification as a specialist nurse with a specialization in operating theatre nursing. Assessment Primarily teaching and scientific expertise. The applicant should be able to demonstrate broad knowledge about the current conditions for practice placements on a first- and second cycle level. Particularly meritorious is a broad network of contacts among health care professionals on a first-, second- and tertiary care level. In the selection for the right candidate, a demonstrated ability to collaborate, a flexible approach with groups of teachers and students along with administrative skills will be considered an advantage. The candidate is expected to teach in Swedish. Subject area description Studies in Nursing develop the knowledge about health and having a good life despite the presence of illness and/or disability. Nursing also develops the knowledge about having a peaceful and dignified death. In Nursing, it is not the illness nor the disability, but people’s experiences, interpretations and reactions to the illnesses and diseases that form the focal point. Job assignments The position involves teaching on a first- and second cycle level, with a focus on patient safety in different health care contexts, with a special focus on theatre care. Teaching participants in the supervisor-training course (for the supervision of students at practice placements) will be included. The duties consist of planning, coordinating, aiming for a continuity in the courses, teaching and the evaluation of the education. It is expected that the candidate will make active efforts towards achieving the Institute’s goals, work in accordance with the business plan and participate in planned joint meetings and activities. In addition to the pedagogical tasks, the contract will include responsibility for the planning and follow up of the contract education. The candidate is expected to teach in Swedish. The Institute of Health and Care Sciences offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for nurses, radiographers, midwives and specialist nurses. The basic training courses for nurses and radiographers lead to a professional degree as well as a bachelor's degree. The training of midwives and the different courses for specialist nurses lead to a professional registration in combination with a master's degree. All professional programmes lead to a professional registration. Moreover, the freestanding courses are offered at an advanced level, offering the possibility to continue studying towards a master's degree in one of the Institute’s main subjects; nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography and health care pedagogics. The Institute also offers a postgraduate programme leading to a PhD degree in Health Care Sciences.
