You are skilled working in Creo and experience with Volvo AB specific product development tools is positive. You have broad knowledge in general mechanical components and are eager to explore, learn and develop new technologies It is not required, but positive, to have knowledge in transmission engineering. Knowledge from the marine industry is a plus. Experience of classified ship installations such as engines, drive systems, seal systems or surveillance systems is meriting. The transmission department within Product development is responsible for the development and design of transmissions for Marine applications. It is located in Gothenburg and Köping and manufacturing sites are in Köping and Lexington, Tennessee. The department is today about 22 persons working in different roles. The group is organized to have a holistic view of our products and taking care of all the different stages in the product cycle of the products – from new development projects via product maintenance to quality issues and support to the market. This approach means that we are facing a wide variety of tasks, from problem solving of quality issues both in the design and production to leading the system design within a project and in a wide range of technical areas from mechanical transmission systems to castings and hydraulic systems. The design engineer tasks vary from developing concepts to producing drawings, working in early project phases to optimizing parts in production and solving quality issues.
