If yes, let us give you an introduction of our journey! Connected, electric, highly-automated and autonomous vehicles are making their way into our lives, and it’s happening fast! This paradigm shift in the automotive industry introduces new demands on our speed of development. This is where our new agile way of working comes into the picture. One important part in the setup is the agile release train with a mission to collect the resources in the SW integration and system infrastructure areas. The aim is to improve the efficiency around integration and system releases. To do fast integrations, shorten loop times and change tools so we get closer to continues integration and later hopefully continues deployment. We are looking for a Release Train Engineer (RTE) for the train called System and Software Infrastructure. About the position The RTE’s major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. RTEs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement. Besides the RTE the train leadership consists of a system architect for SW, a system architect for infrastructure and a product manager. The personnel in our teams consists of highly skilled technicians that makes a huge impact on our truck delivery process. This train has now been running for a year and the structure is falling into place. It consists of around 60 persons. As examples some of the teams in the train are: continous integration, SW build, communication and power platform. The next steps we need to take is to further tune the teams and mature more within the continues delivery area. As an RTE you will also participate in the Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders and teams, in the new processes and mindsets. We need to configure SAFe to the organization’s needs, standardizing and documenting practices. As an RTE for this train you get an opportunity to work with both leadership, the coolest embedded technology and being an important part of our ability to increase speed and creativity. In this position you are in the middle of a continuous transformation and have the possibility to make an impact on Volvos products and future. Who are we? EE department consists of 1500 engineers spread on 5 sites, this train mainly utilizes personell in Göteborg and Lyon and mainly within the vehicle development and systems engineering organisations. This position will report to sectionmanager system engineering in Göteborg.
