About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a flexible, student focussed coordinator to work as part of the University’s Wellbeing Service.

The post-holder will be responsible for delivering Specialist Mentoring (MH/ASC), as part of Non-Medical Helper Provision, as funding by the Disabled Students Allowance.

This role requires the post holder to:

To support allocated students on a one-to-one basis with the practical impact of their Mental Health/ Autistic Spectrum Condition on their academic experience To work closely and communicate effectively with the University’s Wellbeing team to support liaison with academic staff and university services. To deliver focused interventions to help students manage their mental health/autism, allowing students to engage in their learning including independent study To have knowledge and appreciation of the range of activities, courses, opportunities, organisations and individuals that could be drawn upon to provide additional support for students and encourage independence/ Clearly document all assessments, actions and outcomes within existing recording systems. Adhere to the ethical framework of the Wellbeing team and individual professional code of conduct, participating in regular clinical supervision. Keep abreast of current research and practice in the field of autism and share best practice. Co-operate with quality assurance procedures as part of the requirements under Disabled Students Allowance

Welsh Language Skills

The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 - A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
