You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one of the following: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Monitor the preventive maintenance programs to ensure life expectancy of operational facilities. Ensure performance of preventive maintenance on building systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems and related components. Repair building plumbing, low-voltage, and line voltage electric systems, door hardware, fire and life safety protection equipment/systems, sprinkler systems, seniors and related hardware and software. Perform inspections of new or altered facilities to ensure compliance with the Occupational, Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and contract specifications Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Major DutiesAs a Facilities Operations Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Manages the oversight of contractor performance for a preventative maintenance program for building systems Monitors the implementation of maintenance methods, standards and techniques. Monitors and inspects work done by contractors for adherence to state and Federal regulations, conformance specifications, requirements, and compliance with applicable building and safety codes. Monitors the activities of all maintenance, renovation, remodeling and new construction projects to ensure performance is in accordance with building code procedures.
