Volvo Powertrain is now searching for a Development Engineer in the area of Load systems for Powertrain & Drivetrain Testing, to support the development of a New Powertrain Laboratory in Gothenburg Volvo is a key player within environmental friendly transportation solutions and these areas are changing rapidly. The new laboratory will become a cornerstone in supporting the development of competitive products with cutting edge technology. Position Description As a Development Engineer you will play an important part in our investment program. We can offer you an interesting and exciting experience, where you will be involved in the development of facilities and equipment to be able to meet new demands in testing of engines, transmissions, hybrids, batteries and complete drivelines. As Development Engineer you will be responsible for: Technical descriptions, specifications and act as advisor for the investment projects related to engine, transmission and electro-mobility testing Understand existing and future requirements on test equipment and needed methods In co-operation/communication with equipment suppliers finding technical solutions and be part of the realization and commissioning of new equipment Develop specialist knowledge within the field of: Electrical load systems (dynamometer systems, battery simulators, etc.) Rig electronics (measurements, signal handling, I/O and PLC-systems) Sharing your knowledge with colleagues and organization and support fault tracing activities Perform pre-studies and benchmarking and choose the best solutions in accordance to quality, accuracy, reliability, maintainability and legal demands by working in close cooperation with equipment suppliers and networking Generate ideas and pre-studies to improve efficiency, reliability or quality demands For further information, please contact: Per Hellberg, Program Manager, +46 31 3223550 The Volvo Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine and industrial engines under the leading brands Volvo, Renault Trucks, Mack, UD Trucks, Eicher, SDLG, Terex Trucks, Prevost, Nova Bus, UD Bus and Volvo Penta.
