Job SummaryAs a Hardware Division Director, you will direct the Hardware Division, leading staff, setting priorities, and managing operations to meet program goals and improve business practices. Also serve as senior technical authority, providing expert guidance on complex IT hardware issues. Location of position: Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Office of Acquisition Solution Development. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

The GS-15 salary range starts at $150,119 per year and is dependent upon duty location.. Applicants applying for the GS-15 grade level must meet the following requirements: Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service as described below: IT SPECIALIST COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Attention to Detail - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant keeps abreast of latest technology, information, research, etc., to maintain knowledge in field of expertise (for example, reads trade journals, participates in professional/technical associations, maintains credentials). Customer Service - skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant promotes or develops and maintains good working relationships with key individuals or groups. Oral Communication - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant serves on panels, committees, or task forces as a representative for the organization on technical or professional issues. Problem Solving - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant monitors current trends or events (for example, technological, economic, political, social, educational, or employment trends or events) and applies the information as appropriate. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience is defined as: Developing, communicating, and implementing a vision or strategy for a technology‐focused program or organization, aligning stakeholder needs with enterprise IT solutions and long‐term business objectives. Leading cross‐functional or multidisciplinary teams responsible for delivering or supporting modern technology products, platforms, or digital services in a large or complex organization. Managing program plans that include establishing goals, monitoring activities through performance indicators, allocating resources, and taking corrective action to address risks or emerging issues. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with customers, executives, and stakeholders to ensure understanding, alignment, and successful program outcomes. Preparing and reviewing technical documentation—such as white papers, acquisition materials, or business cases—supporting decisions for enterprise technology solutions that may include both hardware and software components.

Major DutiesDirects and manages the work of the Division. Organizes and plans staff work assignments, develops work plans for approved goals and objectives, ensures implementation of goals and objectives and determines optimal approaches and solutions for long range program needs. Uses technical leadership, creativity and judgment, sets objectives, oversees research and analysis, and devises innovative ways to solve problems of major importance to the agency. Monitors technical aspects of broad programmatic issues to ensure successful completion, recommending changes or solutions to problems or redirection of effort as required. Establishes metrics to measure and evaluate the Division's performance. Develops needs analysis to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions and consults with senior management officials to identify specific requirements. Serves as subject matter expert and Agency spokesman on IT hardware category management as well as the program areas within the assigned category. Serves on agency, interagency and technical society committees of national importance as a recognized authority in IT hardware category management.RequirementsIf selected, you must meet the following conditions: Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
