Job SummaryThe incumbent serves as the supervisor of the administrative section of the Support Services Division at the Seattle Regional Office. The incumbent plans for, organizes, administers, and directs how the support services work will be accomplished for the organizations served. Plans and directs programs and responsible for total functions.

QualificationsTo qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement: 05/28/2026. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. BASIC REQUIREMENT: In order to be found qualified, applicants must meet the Individual Occupational Requirement(IOR) below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level in the normal line of progression that demonstrated knowledge of the methods and procedures for providing or performing a variety of functions and services applicable to the position to be filled; ability to plan, organize, and control work involving diverse activities; ability to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others; and skill in oral and written communications. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Management analyst or technician or other work that included study, analysis, or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices, and procedures. Administrative officer or assistant, budget administration, program analysis, or other work that demonstrated knowledge of an organization and its functions, and the ways in which support services can facilitate the work of the organization. Office management experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support services such as typing, mail processing, purchase of supplies and equipment, etc. Secretarial work that required monitoring and coordinating administrative and processing work of subordinate elements through a system of internal procedures, controls, production, progress reporting, etc., to insure the efficient operation of an organization. Military experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support functions such as communications, property management, mail service, facilities and equipment maintenance, etc. In addition to the above Basic Requirements/IOR you must also meet the specialized experience requirements. To qualify for the Supervisory Support Services Specialist at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or equivalent. Specialized Experience may have been gained in the Federal, Military, or private sectors. Specialized Experience is defined as experience overseeing or assisting with managing the administrative operations of a work unit. To be qualifying the experience must demonstrate experience with budget, procurement, and facilities management. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Full vs. Part-Time Employment: Full-time employment is considered to be at least 35 hours per week. Part-time experience will be credited on a pro-rated basis; when including part-time employment in your resume you must specify the average hours worked per week. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily of a sedentary nature. There are occasional periods of walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items. Major DutiesThis position is located in a Department of Veterans Affairs, Regional Office (VARO). The incumbent serves as the supervisor of the Administrative Section of the Support Services Division. The primary purpose of this position is to manage and supervise the operations of the Support Services Division Administrative functions, e.g. property management, supply, procurement, fleet management, etc. Duties include, but are not limited to: Administers administration programs that include records management, property management, supply, procurement, and vehicle fleet management. With division and station management, assists in the development and execution of the station's annual GOE and Minor Construction budget. Ensures efficient utilization of facility space by monitoring, evaluating, and planning based on program changes and demands and works with appropriate entities for acquisitions, maintenance, and improvements. Participates in the preparation of the annual operating plan; consolidates and prepares estimates for presentation to the Director and other station management officials. Collaborates with the Budget Officer to review orders to verify the need and ensure each section receives the appropriate share of the funds available. Oversees the procurement, issuance, storage, replacement, repair, turn-in and disposal of office supplies, equipment, and furniture.
