The role
As Senior Health and Safety Advisor, you will:
Provide proactive, professional HSW advice and develop and deliver training across the University. Support the development and implementation of procedures and arrangements that ensure legal compliance and good practice. Inspect, audit, monitor and report on safety standards across Colleges, Directorates and Research Centres. Champion a strong safety culture through coaching, training and collaborative working. Contribute to incident investigation, root-cause analysis and the sharing of learning across the University.
The team/The department
As part of the Governance, Legal and Compliance Directorate, we support Colleges and departments across the University to meet their responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act and associated regulations.
Working alongside Academics, Researchers, Technical Operations, Human Resources, Estates and Facilities colleagues, we aim to ensure all staff and students can work,learn and thrive in a safe environment. As part of this, we are delivering a University-wide improvement programme to modernise our safety culture, strengthen risk management and compliance, and embed proportionate, enabling and effective HSW arrangements.
