Job SummaryThis position is located at the U.S. Department of War (DoW) Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Facilities Operations and Services Division (FOSD). The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of tasks including assisting with relocation planning, data entry, conducting site surveys, performing inventories, and coordinating move activities for office equipment and furniture within the Pentagon and the broader National Capital Region (NCR).

QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. You may qualify at the GS-06 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal Service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) which has given me the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties related to the position being filled. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) inventory and storage management, property accountability, material acquisition and/or projections in order to provide logistical support; and 2) facilitating receipt, storage, issue, transfer, turn in and disposal of property.. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major DutiesIncumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Uses a thorough knowledge of supply regulations and policies to perform an assortment of compound assignments related to maintaining property records pertaining to equipment accountability. Completes individual transactions in a supply system, providing customer assistance, screening reference files, conducting inquiries and data searches, and distributing output files. Conducts research and consults with the Defense Reutilization Management Office to ensure obsolete and surplus items are properly tagged, to include taking the necessary steps to discard hazardous materials properly. Performs extensive research in different catalogs to obtain federal stock groups, classes, and national stock numbers for specialized, unique items, many not readily identifiable and/or not readily differentiated from others, and to determine proper identification.
