Job summary
Receptionist required for busy GP Surgery in Wimbledon. Experience is essential.
An opportunity to work in an expanding GP practice with more than 11,000 patients has arisen. We are looking for a reliable, conscientious, hardworking candidate to join our friendly/busy team.
You will need to provide a positive, professional and compassionate service at all times.
You need to be fully computer literate with good communication skills and EMIS Web trained.
You may be required to work extra hours when colleagues are absent due to sickness or holiday, you may also be required to work outside normal working hours.
This will be a part time position with an option to be enrolled in the NHS Pension scheme.

Main duties of the job
Welcoming patients to the surgery in courteous manner with a positive and friendly image.Providing general information and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service. Answering the telephone and transfer calls to the appropriate team members. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system. Registering new patients and ensuring all necessary information is obtained. Filing, photocopying and scanning. Reporting any problems with the premises, medical equipment of the practice to the manager. Ensuring the reception area, notice-boards, the entrance remain tidy. Abiding by all legislation in relation to patient information, data protection and confidentiality. Following practises procedures and protocols.

Providing general information, assistance and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service. Answering the telephone and transfer calls to the appropriate healthcare professional or other team members. Processing telephone requests for appointments, visits and consultations and dealing with requests for home visits, changing appointments etc. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system. Registering new patients and ensuring all necessary information is obtained and entered. Updating patients medical records as required. Filing, photocopying and scanning organisational documents, records, patients documentations. Reporting any problems with the premises, medical equipment or the running of the practice to the manager. Ensuring the reception area, notice-boards, the entrance remain tidy and welcoming. Abiding by all legislation in relation to patient information, data protection and confidentiality. Following practises procedures and protocols. Undertaking any other administrative duties that may arise from time to time to assist in the smooth running of the practice. Practice provides extended hours for patients access.
