About this role

Requirements - A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. - Deep knowledge of Linux (we run Ubuntu) and all layers of the networking stack. You should be confident discussing in detail what’s going on under the hood. - Comfortable with large scale production systems and technologies, for example load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems, and configuration management. - A track record of designing and executing small to medium scale systems automation projects with strong autonomy. - Strong Security mindset. - Strong coding skills in at least one programming language, and a desire to pick up more. - Familiarity with and enthusiasm for software engineering best practices such as testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery. - A passion for elegantly solving problems using open source software whenever possible, avoiding complex solutions and reinventing wheels. - A passion for contributing to open source software, fixing bugs and implementing features. - The ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving, globally distributed environment. Responsibilities - Own, as part of a small cross functional squad, a particular infrastructure problem space at Spotify: ensuring Spotify has a secure, reliable, highly available perimeter and service discovery infrastructure. - Design, implement and drive internal adoption of infrastructure perimeter and service discovery products. - Architect, design and document systems, including writing and reviewing code. - Undertake measured, methodical, troubleshooting of complicated systems under pressure. - Partake in an on-call rotation alongside the engineers who build our production backends. - Meet availability SLAs for the services your squad owns, contributing directly to Spotify global availability. The employment is on minimum two year or permanent and we pay a monthly wage of above SEK 50 000.
