In other words, we are in a unique position to lead the additive transformation One key priority for Sandvik Additive Manufacturing, is to continue to build our core-competencies within the area of cemented carbide and other hard materials for AM. We are therefore looking for Senior R&D Engineers to join our R&D-team in Västberga, Stockholm, in a position where you are an important player in establishing this new and growing business. Your challenge – Creating ground-breaking innovations and sharing know-how In this position, you drive R&D-projects and different initiatives for additive manufacturing of cemented carbide and other hard materials; all the way from method development to pilot production implementation. You work both in the lab and with real-life field testing; monitoring and evaluating all relevant additive print process technologies for cemented carbide, to ensure that we adopt the most optimal AM-process. You also study the fundamental properties and “printability” of cemented carbide powders. This position offers a wide responsibility, and a lot of interaction with colleagues, customers and internal stakeholders. This includes transferring knowledge and establishing networks with universities and different AM-technology centers globally. You also share insights and support collaborative development by sharing skills and best practices internally, ensuring we are always in the forefront of this area. Intrigued? To be successful in this position, you have both theoretical and practical knowledge of cemented carbide and other hard materials, powder technology, powder metallurgy, sintering, modelling and material characterization. You communicate effectively in both written and verbal English, and you are comfortable presenting information in different forums when required. With an eye for details, you take part in the development of new additive processes and are not afraid to go outside of your comfort zone to move our development forward. You are communicative, which you utilize to share information with your colleagues and present information adapted for different audiences.
