Role Summary: In this role you will be part of GE’s Renewables OnShore Wind Projects organization. You will be responsible to perform commissioning and service activities on wind turbine generators (WTG) and its ancillary equipment (SCADA etc.) throughout the EMEA and SSA region. This is a two year limited contract. Essential Responsibilities: The role includes, among others, the following responsibilities: Lead and oversee all commissioning, trail-run and documentation activities at assigned projects Schedule and coordinate work and Commissioning activities with client and other functions Motivate, supervise and lead assigned teams, provide professional feedback, evaluations and recommendations Ensure compliance of site activities with safety and quality standards as set by GE company and client Ensure company vehicles, property, tooling, equipment and Commissioning documentation is kept in good order Identify and maintain stock of critical assets, tools and spare parts Be the “go-to” person for issues and technical problems; communicate, address and escalate these as required Ensure all commissioning deliverables are met within contractual requirements and set deadlines Support other internal functions such as Site Management, Installation etc. Maintain and promote EHS, safety and quality culture Report, communicate and escalate commissioning site status, progress and issues Qualifications/Requirements: Degree as qualified/certified electrical engineer/technician and bachelor’s degree (or similar) in electrical eng. (or equivalent knowledge/experience) Strong professional experience performing all aspects of Commissioning work at WTGs Demonstrated skill-set and experience as per GE training matrix for Commissioning (applies to internal candidates) Ability and confidence to work at height (includes physical fitness to climb) as per G41 or similar standard Capable of working at remote sites in adverse weather conditions (heat, humidity, cold, wind, altitude) Ability and willingness to travel and work domestically and internationally as required Ability and willingness to work on weekends, public-vacation, shift-work or on-call duty as required Valid/clean driving license (EU class B, BE) English fluency, particularly with technical explanations (min. Level B2, C1 preferred) Unrestricted EU work permit Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst continuing to follow safety/quality guidelines Competent in Health and Safety standards (EHS)
