To be successful in the role you need to be a great communicator with excellent social skills, which gives you the ability to build partnerships across various business units, functions and organisational levels. You preferably have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a retail or restaurant manager and thus bring with you successful experience of managing and leading large teams, consisting of both co-workers and other leaders. As a leader you are passionate about people and have a strong belief in every individual’s potential, proving a strong value based leadership sharing the IKEA values. Coaching, mentoring and practicing clear communication comes natural to you. You lead by example and as a person you are humble, show strong willpower and have the ability to create togetherness and enthusiasm around you. You have the ability to set clear guidelines, make long term action plans and effectively work with numbers and budget. You define goals, set priorities, implement actions, follow up – and deliver the result in time. As manager for the IKEA FOOD function you are a part of the store management team and will together with the team be responsible to create long term profitability at IKEA Linköping working with our business plan, making sure we have an attractive store. In addition to your contribution to the store management team you are responsible to lead the IKEA FOOD function towards success, ensuring it is the heart of the store by encouraging our visitors to stay longer, enjoy more and return again. You do this through your ability and passion to lead business and people together. The function FOOD consists of around 60 co-workers, of which 3 department managers (Swedish Food Market & Bistro manager, Kitchen Production manager, Commercial Restaurant manager) and 2 team leaders. As the FOOD manager you report to the Store Manager and the three department managers report to you. About the assignment You will be accountable to operate FOOD in accordance with legislation, as well as global principles and guidelines such as IKEA FOOD Direction & Strategy and IKEA FOOD action plan. As FOOD manager you will also be responsible for budget, creating and working with KPIs and deliver and follow up on set goals within the function. As a leader you lead through our great people and you embody the IKEA value “leadership by example”, promoting an open and honest culture. A very important part of your role will be to actively work with, inspire and empower the leaders within the function. Another natural part of the assignment is to encourage your team to meet the needs of our guests, continuously improving our meeting with them and strengthening their quality experience within IKEA FOOD. At IKEA Linköping we are around 320 co-workers that with great enthusiasm work towards our common goals.
