Positioning and machine learning are key technologies for the next generation mobile networks. In these efforts, we work together in tight and diverse teams to define and realize new capabilities for the mobile networks, which are used by billions of people worldwide. This includes further increasing the network performance we experience today with our smartphones and tablets, but also improving the networks’ support for the digital transformation of industries and societies. For the latter we design optimized connectivity solutions for billions of new devices and things, which enable completely new uses of the mobile networks and will create immense societal value. In our units at Ericsson Research, Radio and Network Architecture and Protocols, we have the mission to develop and drive best-in-class algorithms, procedures, protocols and architecture solutions for current and future wireless access networks and mobile systems. As a researcher, you will participate in advanced research project teams developing new concepts and solutions for 5G NR and LTE radio networks. You will invent new features and evaluate their performance using state-of-the-art radio network system simulators and test-beds. You will be involved in international standardization in 3GPP and protect ideas in patents.
