Job SummaryTHIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a DIRECTOR OF INSPECTIONS, Position Description Number T5867000 and is part of the 109TH AW, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. This is a Temporary Position Not to Exceed 1 Year. Veterans' preference does not apply to this vacancy due to internal merit promotion.

QualificationsGENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; knowledge of applicable laws, directives, regulations, policies, and procedures; skill in interpersonal communications, empathy, and effective listening; ability to organize thoughts, research materials, and manage case projects; skill in comprehending and interpreting directives and laws; ability to enunciate without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communications; ability to write reports and presentation formats; and ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly and effectively. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Must have experience planning, organizing, resourcing, and directing the execution of a wide range of complex inspection activities for the wing Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP). Must have experience overseeing compliance, plans, and conducts By-Law, Special Emphasis Items (SEI), Special Interest Items (SII), Command Interest Items (CII) and nuclear assurance inspections as outlined by requirements from the DoD, DAF, NGB, and G-MAJCOM. Must have experience reviewing the adequacy and currency of installation exercise policy guidance and instructions, and updates as necessary to incorporate program changes or to address areas where improvement is required. Must have experience organizing and analyzing data from inspections and exercises across the DoD with the goal of identifying and communicating trends. Major DutiesAs a DIRECTOR OF INSPECTIONS, GS-1801-12, you will serve as the focal point for interpreting, developing, and implementing Air Force inspection policy and wing-level long-range strategic plans. Provides direction and oversight of internal and external inspections, audits, evaluations, reviews, exercises, and analyses to determine unit effectiveness and efficiency. Ensures operational, contingency, and mobilization plans adhere to policy and direct the effective use of wing resources.
