About this role

- Completed University degree, M.Sc.in Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar. - At least 5 years of technical/industrial work experience in paper industry or with fiber based materials. - Skills in general operations management. - Know-how of end-to-end process analysis, modelling and simulation. - Understanding of automation and related technologies. - Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies. - Project Management, HSE management and change leadership. - Engaging and open in communication. - Fluent in speaking and writing professional Swedish and English. - Handy IT skills (MS Office, business systems, production control systems). The process engineer leads improvement and development activities within production to secure product stability and runnability at the plant. He/she initiates the implementation of sound engineering and process controls, continuous improvement techniques to enhance product quality, production efficiencies and cost structure. The work is done in close collaboration with production operational leaders, and the Quality, TCS, R&D and HSE functions. Key tasks and responsibilities: - To identify, prioritize, and lead both operational and technical improvement programs in production. - To use Lean methodology to drive sustainable improvements (e.g. safety, quality, reliability of equipment, waste, productivity). - Track process and machine changes and record modifications in documentation and drawings. - To develop and spread a high level of know-how and expertise in manufacturing processes, techniques, tools (e.g. SPC, design for experiment, statistics) to keep at the state of the art. - To propose, promote and lead innovative manufacturing technologies for new products. - To assist the operational team in case of severe technical issues, update the troubleshooting guide accordingly, teach and train operational employees to act independently. - To understand and adapt best practices from benchmarking leading companies. - To apply local health, safety and environment laws/ regulations and Ahlstrom-Munksjö standards applicable to his/her function and to ensure that these laws and standards are complied. - Collaborate with global and local colleagues to reach goals and financial targets. - Participate in scheduled on-call duty. When needed serve as interim production manager. - Bring personal competence and inspiration to develop the team and processes.
