About this role
You have a university degree with specialization in Computer Science, information sciences or a related field, or equivalent work experience. We think that you have experience with Windows and Linux-based systems and technologies as well as system administration. In addition, it is beneficial if you have experience with one or more of the following areas: • Version control system management (TFVC, GIT) • Build management (TFS, Jenkins, MSBuild) • Virtualization (Hyper-V, Azure, VMWare) • Scripting skills (Powershell, Kornshell, Bash, SQL) • Installers/packagers, provisioning tools Who You Are We are looking for you who have a broad and up-to-date background on build system technology and software engineering in general; creativity to find innovative and realistic solutions to the challenges and a SCRUM/Agile mindset; as well as excellent communication and technical writing skills in English to explain and document your ideas and plans for different audiences. We develop systems controlling and monitoring power grids for our customers all over the world. The system we develop is part of the customer’s critical infrastructure, used to run the electrical network. Therefore we work with a number of system requirements including reliability, security and availability. The role is accountable for the following activities: • Develop and document the continuous deployment build and release process. Responsibility to develop strategies and road-maps and drive the implementation of these • Build, operate, and maintain the Continuous Delivery toolchain (TFS), to achieve reliable and stable releases • Constantly improve the Continuous Delivery toolchain and associated processes towards more automation and shorter turn-around times • Interact with various global product teams to meet their specific needs • Troubleshoot build and release issues • Drive the strategy, principles and road-map for development teams on software configuration management/branching and test automation strategies • Explore, learn, propose and implement new technologies.
