About this role

The post

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Graduate Research Assistant to participate in an exciting project on AI for biology. This project funded post is available immediately or from February 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027. This post is flexible to be renewed to another 3 years, depending on the performance of the fellow. The successful applicant will work on a highly interdisciplinary team, researching and developing cutting-edge AI technology for understanding and designing biological systems.

About you

The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.

Applicants will possess a relevant research experience (at least MPhil, ideally to be PhD or equivalent qualification/experience) in a related field of study. The successful applicant will be a nationally recognised authority in AI (including but not limited to computer vision, natural language processing, optimization) and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required. Applicants will be able to carry out world-class research and publish in premier venues such as top AI conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI) or premier journals (e.g., Nature Machine Intelligence, Nature Methods).
