About this role
To succeed in the role, you have a minimum of 3 years of higher technical education, combined with at least 10 years of project management experience of leading large projects in a similar field. Good understanding of control systems and processes will be seen as a merit. If you have experience in delivery and contract projects, preferably with some knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering, programming, drive systems, control systems, mechanical equipment, installation and commissioning, you are the one for this position. Today, you might already work in a Senior Project Manager/Director role in a company that supplies turn key solutions to the process or utility industry Experience from working with export projects on the global market will be seen as a merit. As a representative for ABB, you must be customer focused and ensure that we deliver according to their expectations. Your ability to manage your project team and to communicate within all business levels are crucial for your success. You are a results- and solution-oriented professional, used to an entrepreneur-like mindset, with high drive and persistence. Reading, writing and speaking fluent English, as well as Swedish, is required. Knowledge in other languages is a strong advantage. Your main task will be to lead the execution of large and or complex projects and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments. Tactical planning will be a big part of your role, to achieve growth in sales and won contracts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the project group to set goals. As our representative, you will participate in procurement of equipment and contractors, as well as have commercial responsibility when representing ABB in various projects. In case of projects with several ABB units involved, you will be the overall Project Manager and coordinate the work towards our customer. In short, you will have full responsibility for projects’ content, finances and timetable, within the given framework with allocated resources. You will be part of Process Industries, a business unit within ABB's Industrial Automation division. The unit delivers complete electrification and automation solutions, industry-specific products and lifecycle services to clients in Mining, Pulp & Paper and Metals. The business’ added value is deep industry expertise coupled with the ability to integrate both electrical and automation, resulting in faster start-up times, increased plant productivity and reduced overall CapEx and OpEx spend for customers. We are about 90 employees in Västerås. Our projects vary in size from smaller spare parts orders and refurbishments to major international projects that extend for several years in time.
