Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Be at least 18 years of age. Hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Read, speak and write English. Maintain current immunizations and be physically and behaviorally capable of performing the duties of the job. Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgment in sequencing tasks. Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, and for cleaning equipment and work area. Must be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Completion of SCHRC checks a successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 level) is required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Major DutiesSets up carts with proper amount and appropriate size of spoons, forks, plates, bowls, plastic drinking glasses and serving utensils, and replenishes items as needed. Set up carts with appropriate serving portions of hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, fruits, bread and beverages. Continually cleans and sanitize work area. Sets up and operates dishwashing sinks and dishwashers, performs preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Scrapes, soaks, scours and scrubs bowls pots and pans. Also performs heavy duty cleaning task such as exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen appliances and equipment, sweeps and mops floors, washes down walls, walk-in refrigerator and freezer, sanitizes trash cans. May rotate, label and shelve incoming supplies. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area. Performs other related duties as assigned by Kitchen Manager or Supervisor.
