At ABB Enterprise Software we are looking for a software development manager who wants to become part of the product development management team in Västerås, Sweden. Tasks: In this role, you will be a key person in the delivery of our roadmap leading a team of Software developers, QA and technical specialists. As a Development Manager you will have the important task of managing a team of developers and QA to deliver high quality, cost effective and timely product solutions in releases of Network Manager SCADA/EMS/DMS platform. Moreover. You will create plans and allocate resources to meet the agreed functionality and quality targets. Your team will work with new development using modern technologies and changes in architecture for a future platform. We expect you to lead the team when working with input from product management and other stakeholders, and based on this define the best solution in close collaboration with the software architects. Your team will provide the design approach, development execution including development of unit tests and writing documentation. You will need to keep up to date with new technologies and architecture principles and apply them to our products. Tasks include: • Managing a group of 15 software developers and quality assurance specialists • Guide, coach and mentor software development engineers and • Provide project management skills as a part of development planning with the teams. • Make sure the team follow the agile process defined and help continuously improve the processes. • Encourage innovation by motivating, guiding and empowering team members • Identifying new technologies and tools to increase quality and productivity • Ensuring effective knowledge-sharing between development teams and global development centers to promote collaboration and develop new technological approaches and solutions • Safeguarding quality assurance of all deliverables from the development team Requirements: You hold a university degree along with at least five years’ work experience related to software development or SCADA systems. Since you will be part of a global organization, fluency in English is a must. As a person, you consider yourself to be a good, solution focused leader with high inner drive. You are a good planner and have good ability to make priorities between tasks along with high social competence and a customer focused approach. Moreover, you are a natural communicator to whom proactive behavior and collaboration comes instinctively. A close cooperation and communication with the product management team and also the delivery and sales teams within Enterprise Software is essential for the successful execution of development. You will be based in Västerås, but be prepared to travel to other development centers and also be prepared to meet customers.
